The story of John Francis Finneron, the soldier, is not unlike many of the military men and women who fought in World War II. The story and memories of this war for each individual soldier makes them unique. This story focuses on John’s experience as a German prisoner. The Battle of the Bulge was the final push of the war for the Allies in Europe. John was at the Bulge but it his experience as a German prisoner that gives the reader a small glimpse of that experience while also demonstrating that often in every war all of the combatants are just soldiers.
